Cops kill men allegedly linked to St Catherine murder

May 26, 2026

Two men were fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with police in St Catherine on Sunday after lawmen intercepted a vehicle believed to be carrying a person of interest in last year’s gruesome quintuple murder in Commodore district.

Reports are that about 6:05 p.m., police intercepted a Honda Stream motorcar along the Lluidas Vale main road after receiving information about one of the occupants.

The vehicle was reportedly followed to Mountain Piece Road where the driver was signalled to stop.

Police say after officers exited their service vehicle, occupants of the Honda allegedly opened fire at the lawmen.

The police reportedly took defensive action and returned the fire.

During the alleged shootout, three men reportedly escaped from the vehicle and fled into nearby bushes.

After the shooting ended, police say two men were found inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were taken to the Linstead Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Their identities have not yet been released.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has since launched a probe into the fatal shooting.
