Attempted robbery of wholesale in Montego Bay foiled by police

Men who on Monday night tried to rob a wholesale on Church Street in Montego Bay, St James were stopped in their tracks by the police.

The police say there was a shoot-out and that the men fled, leaving behind guns.

The police report that about 6:00 p.m., cops on patrol were alerted to a robbery in progress and went to the area.

The police say that upon arrival, the men opened fire at them and that the fire was returned.

The men fled the area.

The police say two guns were subsequently found.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The police say they will continue to maintain their presence in downtown Montego Bay.
